Scope
The scope included:
- Design, supply, and installation of a 2,400 sqm QuikDeck® suspended platform
- HAKI staircases (x4) for safe access to the platform
- Hoists for materials handling
- Shrink-wrap encapsulation for containment and safety
- Tube and fitting scaffolding for supplementary works
- Full in-house engineering design as a turnkey access solution
Challenge
- Passenger Safety and Access: The platform needed to be fully sealed to prevent debris falling into public areas, while ensuring unrestricted passenger movement to check-in desks.
- Strict Structural Load Limits: Existing roof trusses imposed a maximum allowable load of 60 kg/sqm, which had to include both the platform’s dead load and the live working load.
- Integration of Temporary Services: The solution needed to accommodate temporary lighting and other essential utilities for the works.
Solution
- Installed a fully sealed QuikDeck® suspended platform to allow ceiling replacement without impacting the public space below.
- Used lightweight composite boards to reduce the dead weight of the platform while maintaining full load capacity within the 60 kg/sqm limit.
- Chain-suspended design eliminated the need for supports in public areas, preserving full operational space.
- Integrated temporary lighting and other services into the QuikDeck structure.
- Combined QuikDeck with HAKI staircases, hoists, and shrink-wrap encapsulation for a complete, safe, and efficient system.
- All works delivered by Brand Access Solutions scaffolders trained and experienced in QuikDeck installation.
Result
- Delivered a safe, fully compliant suspended access platform allowing construction and public operations to continue side-by-side.
- Achieved a turnkey access solution combining design, engineering, installation, and integrated services.
- Maintained passenger safety and comfort throughout the works.
- Completed Phase 1 on time, with Phase 2 scheduled to follow seamlessly.
