Mast climbing work platforms for window replacement on a 55-metre tower block
Brand Access Solutions provided a mechanical access solution for window replacement works on a 55-metre tower block at Collina Street in Glasgow. Using MC500 and MC650 MASTCLIMBERS™, the access system was erected and fully operational within ten working days.
Scope
Brand Access Solutions, formerly Lyndon SGB, was appointed to provide mechanical access for main contractor City Building at Collina Street in Glasgow.
The 16-week contract required access to the façade of the 55-metre tower block to enable window replacement works throughout the building. The solution comprised MC500 and MC650 MASTCLIMBERS™.
Challenge
Window replacement across a 55-metre high-rise building required reliable access to different working heights along the façade. At the same time, the access solution had to be installed within the project programme so that the window replacement works could proceed.
Brand Access Solutions deployed MC500 and MC650 mast climbing work platforms to provide the required mechanical access. Two teams, each consisting of two operatives, were responsible for erecting the systems.
Performance
The MC500 and MC650 MASTCLIMBERS™ were erected and fully operational within ten working days, using just two teams of two operatives. The systems then provided access for the window replacement works during the 16-week contract.
According to the Brand Access Solutions Contracts Manager, the project ran without complications for the client, supported by close cooperation with City Building.
