Brand Access Solutions Supports Bowmer + Kirkland Mental Health Stand Down in Manchester
Working together to prioritise mental health in construction
Brand Access Solutions was proud to support a major mental health stand down delivered by Bowmer + Kirkland at their Echo Street development in Manchester, reinforcing the importance of wellbeing as a core element of site safety.
More than 250 people across the project paused work to take part in a dedicated mental health session delivered by Ark Fire Protection and led by The Lighthouse Charity. The session created space for open and honest conversations around mental health, suicide prevention, and recognising when colleagues may need support – sending a clear message that looking after mental wellbeing is just as critical as managing physical risks on site.
To extend the message beyond those present on the day, the building façade was illuminated over three nights with powerful statements reflecting real experiences within the construction industry. Brand Access Solutions supported the installation, working alongside Bowmer + Kirkland and partners across the supply chain to help raise awareness, challenge stigma and encourage people to speak up if they are struggling.
The initiative highlights the scale of the mental health challenge within construction and underlines the responsibility the industry shares to address it. By supporting projects like this, Brand Access Solutions is committed to fostering safer, healthier and more supportive working environments – where safety truly means protecting people in every sense.
“Initiatives like this are vital in reminding everyone that safety on site goes beyond physical risk. Supporting the mental health stand down at Echo Street was an important opportunity for us to stand alongside our customers and partners in encouraging open conversations, reducing stigma and reinforcing that looking after people must always come first.”
