Scope
The in-house designed scaffold structure is being erected by a team of Brand Access Solutions operatives, overseen by London and South East Regional Manager. The design features scaffolding to slanting roofs between two buildings (known as the ‘Kissing Point’ for roofing access) and will have been in place for a period of two years upon completion of the temporary works, with nine months remaining on site before striking begins in Summer 2018.
Challenge
Brand Access Solutions said: “It’s a fascinating access project to work on with BAM – featuring highly complex loading, splayed independent and suspended access scaffold to irregular shaped twin buildings. The two roofs meet at a the Kissing Point, creating an irregular shape that has major engineering problems to achieve. Naturally, Brand Access Solutions design and scaffolding teams have created the right, safe solutions and are working to a strict timescale and budget on this complex and irregular scaffold, which has a requirement for several uses and interfaces. This scaffolding structure is as unusual as it is impressive.
“Thanks to all at BAM Construct UK who have worked on this interesting scaffold and to Brand Access Solutions Site Manager, Liam Speers and Contracts Manager, Daz Shields, for their hard work.”
