Scope
Access was required for structural cable inspection and maintenance to the North East mast on this world renowned international sports venue (and Brand Access Solutions is due to install access to the North West mast once this one is complete & dismantled).
The job is typically #BiggerBetter large-scale: The laydown at roof level is 33m high and the top lift installed is approximately 73m high.
Challenge
Neighbouring team, Cardiff Rugby Club (the Blues) had a large section of their property behind barriers and closed off during the temporary works – to afford us a safe exclusion zone, thank you to all at the Blues for their help. And Brand Access Solutions teams had to move out during the scaffolding works – to make way for The Spice Girls & Take That to perform!
Brand Access Solutions Branch manager, said: “It’s been great to be back at the home of Welsh rugby, working on such an iconic and impressive structure – where we have been made to feel very welcome. And it’s fantastic to erect such an impressive , well designed scaffold, on the Cardiff skyline – which is attracting a lot of positive attention from locals, the press and the contractors alike.
“It’s exactly the sort of complex project that we have such an unrivalled reputation for delivering safely. Thanks for the outstanding design by Chris Jones and of course to the Brand Access Solutions operatives involved on the erection, namely, John Dollan, Gavin Jones, Brian Rogers, Rob Loxton, Tyler Dawe and Tom Foley.”
See the images of the complex works – as both a work in progress and as a completed structure. To give a sense of the scale involved, the Brand Access Solutions banner is 9m x 4m.
